     HUMMER is an American company, which is part of the “General Motors” Concern. This Concern specializes in producing large, powerful off-road vehicles with enhanced carrying capacity. Hummer vehicles are manufactured at the UAW facility, located on the grounds of the AM General company in Mishawaka, Indiana. The history began due to a shortage of American military vehicles. In the summer of 1979, the American company “AM General” started its own business of creating vehicles with enhanced carrying capacity. The program was designated as HMMWV M998, which stands for “High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle model 998” and is pronounced as “Hamm-vi”.
     The name “HUMMER” was born out of these circumstances. In fact, Hummer is a rebranding of the civilian version of the original military vehicle HMMWV. Sometimes it is said that “Hummers” is an inaccurate name for the military HMMWV due to the active marketing of the brand and the unusual appearance of the vehicles. The brand emerged from the conversion efforts of the military HMMWV M998 (High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle). As an abbreviation, another name can be derived (HUMVEE).
     From 2006 to 2009, the assembly of Hummer H2 and H3 took place. Since 2010 and up to the present day, Hummer has been manufactured by the Chinese company called “Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machinery Co”. They also produce a model called DongFeng Warrior.
